Google AdSense Tutorial - Seven Tips To Increase Your AdSense Income Today

When I started out many years ago, I would have loved a Google AdSense tutorial to tell me, what I know now. One of my friends and colleagues pointed out that I was one of the few, he knew, who actually made money with Google's AdSense, and he thought I share my knowledge. So keep reading, if you want to learn more about making a steady income online.

Tip #1: Use the right URI's

The site that makes me more than $1,000 per month now, originally made less than a dollar during its first four months. One of the things that made my income skyrocket was just a tiny change. My URI's looked like this: website.com/tip/345.

When I changed them into containing the headline of the tip in question, instead of showing a number, I saw immediate changes in my revenue.

Tip #2: Make sure you have a page title

You probably have a headline on each of your blog posts or articles. However, did you know that you have to have a title as well?

The title doesn't show directly on the page. It shows in the title bar of your browser. When you create your title, you'll find it in the HTML code in the part. There you must have a title-tag within the head part of the code.

Tip #3: No borders - I repeat: No borders!

People don't trust advertising. So you have to make your ads look as little as advertising as possible. One of the ways is to make them blend in with your content, and if they stand out with a border of a kind, you could just as well put a sign next to them saying: Stay away from here. Only ads. Nothing to see.

Tip #4: Blend the background colour with your site

In order to make your advertising blocks blend with your site, you must choose the same background colour for them as you have on that part of your site.

Tip #5: Pick the best colours for your ads

Borders and background colours should match the colours of your site's background. However, the colours for your ads' titles and URL's are important as well. Your titles should match the headlines on your site, and the URL's can be either blue or the same colour.

Tip #6: Size does matter

When you pick your format, choose the biggest size possible. Go with the large rectangle, or leader board. Don't take the standard 468x60. People will probably not click on this format.

Tip #7: Place the ads on the best spots

When you place the advert blocks on your site, choose the part of the site that people can see immediately in their browser. Don't expect them to scroll down to click on your ads.

Other placements are important, too, like blending the advert inside your text, choosing the left or right menu, etc., but there's not space enough in this article to go into more details.

This is just a short Google AdSense tutorial to get you started.
